Avalon Waterways Christens Artistry II in the Netherlands |

.Avalon Waterways has christened its newest Suite Ship, the
64-stateroom Avalon Artistry II, during a canal-side ceremony in the historic
Dutch town of Middelburg. It is the first of two vessels to be introduced in
Europe this spring. The Avalon Expression, which will debut in May, will be
christened by Patricia Schultz, author of the best-selling book 1,000 Places to
See Before You Die. The suites on the two vessels feature a large seating area adjacent to a wall-to-wall panoramic window. When opened, this 10-by-7-foot, floor-to-ceiling window transforms the suite into an open-air balcony. The ships also feature a club, main lounge, dining room, hair salon, Sky Deck whirlpool and open-air bistro for grilled lunches. In addition, the fitness rooms aboard this class of ship which includes Panorama, Visionary, Vista, Artistry II and Expression are larger than on older ships and have more equipment. |
