After nearly
five days without power, the Carnival Triumph
docked in Mobile last night on live television,
disembarking some 3,000 guests.
While TV News stations and Press People from all
over scambled to cover the arrival and docking
Carnival was able to execute tying up the ship
and disembarking passengers, in addition to
keeping media updated with multiple press
conferences through the night.
The ship today will be headed to an unnamed
repair facility, assumed to be BAE Southeast
Shipyards (formerly Atlantic Marine).
Carnival
announced that they expect the Carnival Triumph
to be out of action until mid-April and
estimates that the total impact from voyage
disruptions and related repair costs will result
in an $0.08 to $0.10 earnings per share
reduction in the company's 2013 first half.
