No Plans for Christmas yet? | ||||||||||||
Christmas on the Royal Yacht Britannia, the perfect setting for dinners and evening receptions, for either a corporate celebration or a private occasion. Imagine celebrating the spirit of Christmas on board Britannia where kings and queens, world leaders and celebrities were once entertained. Christmas is a very special time on board
Britannia. For sixty years,
Christmas puddings have been made on board by the Royal Chefs using their
own treasured recipes and the finest ingredients – fit for The Queen. While the
Yacht was in royal service, the inspection and stirring of Britannia’s Christmas
pudding was a time-honored tradition. It was stirred by The Queen and the Duke
of Edinburgh in the Main Galley during the tour of Spain in 1988 and by the
Prince of Wales during the tour of Hong Kong in 1989. The young princes, William
and Harry, also joined in the fun of the annual event during an official tour of
Canada in 1991. Britannia is a magical venue during the festive season. A red carpet welcome awaits as guests are piped aboard via the Royal Brow. You will spot the Christmas tree on the bridge, a time-honored naval tradition. With festive touches throughout the ship, from beautiful garlands in the State Dining Room to Christmas trees in the State Drawing Room and Officers’ Wardroom, an evening on board will truly put you in the Christmas mood. |
