CruiseCompete has just released its monthly CruiseTrends report for June 2015. The report outlines the most popular cruises in a variety of categories, including consumer trends, top ships, departure ports, and luxury and river cruising.

According to the data, the most popular premier cruise line is Carnival Cruise Lines, with the most popular luxury and river cruise lines being Oceania Cruises and Viking River Cruises. Second place falls to Royal Caribbean International for premiere cruises, Cunard for luxury cruises and American Cruise Lines for river cruises.

CruiseTrends reports that the most popular premium ship is Carnival’s Fascination, with Queen Mary 2 as the most popular luxury ship and Queen of the Mississippi as the most popular river ship. Also popular for premium, luxury, and river ships are Carnival’s Glory, Oceania Marina and American Queen.

The most popular cruise regions for June 2015 are the Caribbean and Europe for premium, luxury and river cruises. North America is also popular for premium and river cruises, while the Mediterranean is popular for luxury cruises. The top countries visited include the Bahamas for premium cruises, Greece for luxury cruises and Germany for river cruises. Other ranked countries are Mexico, the U.S., and Austria.

Popular departure ports include Miami, Florida, for premium cruises, New York for luxury cruises, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands for river departures. Fort Lauderdale is also popular for premium departure ports, with Miami and Budapest, Hungary, coming in second for luxury and river departure ports. The most popular cruise ports visited are Nassau, Bahamas, for premium cruises, Mykonos, Greece, for luxury cruises, and Vienna, Austria, for river cruises.

According to the study, guests prefer seven-night itineraries for premium and luxury cruises and 8-night itineraries for river cruises. Guests also prefer traveling during the months of July, August and October.
