February 2003 Newsletter

CHALLENGES
Needless to say, as many of you are reading this you have and still are facing challenges that are far from ordinary. One very important thing that should be remembered and kept in the fore front of our thinking is that our business has always been based on solving CHALLENGES presented to us by our clients and their participants. In many cases, the individual or company that faced these CHALLENGES creatively won the business. I would dare to say that same is the case today.

As we speak with our incentive house clients we are finding that, in fact, some companies are having a very successful year. While no one wants to "give away the store" so to speak, we find these companies are being proactive and thinking outside of the box. It is our hope that our newsletters, and this one in particular, will keep you informed as well as give you something to talk about with your clients.

EUROPE
Although requests for new programs in Europe have been diminishing recently, we are hearing about successes from clients currently working European programs. In talking with these clients, we are noticing a trend - participants still want to go to Europe. We have been told by three clients that their accounts have asked them to call the "winners" to see if they still wanted to go Europe. In each case they found NO ONE wanting to cancel or consider another destination. More interesting these European programs where hitting the target numbers far better than other destinations.

We also are seeing a steady flow of new business from our European clients. Life and Business goes on!

SHIP REVIEWS
This month we review Radisson's newest vessel, the Seven Seas Voyager. To read this review - click here. All ship and property reviews are archived on our website - www.cruiseco.com.

SPECIAL DEALS
Worldwide Cruise Associates have just agreed an exclusive deal with Radisson Seven Seas Cruises for whole ship charters of the Song of Flower in the Med, starting from late September 2003. The ship will be based in Nice and the provisional sailing schedule, which is likely to continue until early/late November depending on demand, will provide charter possibilities of 4 and 5 nights.

A specially discounted price has been negotiated of US$60,000 per day: this is some US$20,000 less than the normal daily rate. Everything is included: welcome bottle of champagne and pre-stocked mini bar in each stateroom; all meals (including traditional afternoon tea), snacks and 24 hour room service; fine wines and full open bar throughout; nightly entertainment program; and all gratuities. Based on the ship's capacity of 180 persons (double occupancy) this is some US$334 per person per day. Compared to a land program of this standard and with these inclusions, this represents very good value for money. Port charges are extra and will vary according to itinerary - suggested budget US$30 per person per day.
