Holland America Expands Culinary Enrichment Program

Holland America Line is expanding on its onboard enrichment program, offering a roster of culinary classes. Ranging from seasonal cuisine to fruit and vegetable art, the classes enable guests to learn from Holland America Line’s culinary staff.

Hosted by the onboard party planner, these classes are offered in addition to the guest chef program and take place in the Culinary Arts Center or in one of the bars and lounges.

The line schedules classes throughout the day on sea and port days. Among the classes are the Taste of Excellence Cookbook Series, where a Holland America chef demonstrates how to make a recipe from the line’s cookbook; “Cooking With the Cruise Director,” where the cruise director takes direction from one of the ship’s chefs; “Fabulous Fruit and Vegetable Art,” which teaches guests the art of fruit and vegetable carving; destination-specific topics like “Flavors of the Northwest” and “Fresh Ketch” on Alaska sailings; “Signature Cocktails,” where the ship’s bartender shows how to mix drinks; “The Art of Flower Arranging,” taught by the ship’s onboard florist; “The Art of Ice Carving,” taught by the ship’s professional ice carvers; and “Let’s Make...” classes for children.
