David Dingle, ceo of
Carnival UK, will open the Ocean Terminal at Associated British
Ports’ (ABP) Port of Southampton on May 29 also at the opening
ceremony will be Doug Morrison, ABP port director, Port of
Southampton. Following a £19m investment by ABP, Ocean
Terminal, the port’s fourth cruise terminal, came into operation on
May 9. It was conceived as a means to accommodate the growth in the
port’s cruise trade, with the number of passengers having doubled
since 2005. In 2008, the port handled more than 900,000 cruise
passengers. |
