Take in 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa and enjoy some crusing around South Africa as well

Two of the world’s largest cruise liners are to be anchored in the ports of Port Elizabeth, Durban and Cape Town for the duration of the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

On June 23, a One Ocean Club liner will dock in Port Elizabeth for the Slovenia v England match. The cruise liner will then offer flights to groups wishing to travel to other venues during England’s campaign. For fans who already hold tickets and flights, individual nights on board will also be offered.

Cruise liners MS Westerdam and MS Noordam, which will be chartered by One Ocean Club from the Holland America Line, will be offering 4,600 extra beds for World Cup guests.

From 11 June, the ships will call at Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban – some of the most well-known venues for the World Cup. Guests will be given an opportunity to attend the group and knock-out games.

MS Westerdam will sail back and forth between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and MS Noordam between Durban and Port Elizabeth. Onboard attractions include a fitness studio, casino, cinema, theatre and library, as well as restaurants, pools and a spa. Each liner has 794 cabins, 159 suites and two penthouses. Most of the food used onboard across the four-week period is to be supplied by local partners.

One Ocean Club will also offer guests leisure activities such as playing golf against the setting of the Drakensberg Mountains, sampling wines in the vinyards around Cape Town and safari trips.

The cruise line will also provide security, including controls in the ports and on the liners, in addition to a shuttle service between airports, ships and stadiums.

Companies are also being invited to use the ships as platforms for business activities. Business facilities are provided and seminars, meetings and receptions can be organised to suit individual attendants
