Seabourn Quest leaves Ci.Mar, en route to Genoa

Seabourn Quest departed the Ci.Mar Costruzioni Navali facility in San Giorgio di Nogaro today, under tow to Genoa's T. Mariotti where she is expected Aug. 20.

This finishes the standing order for Seabourn newbuilds at Ci.Mar, a facility created for the construction of the Seabourn trio of newbuilds that has grown along with the fleet.

Seabourn Odyssey's hull was built there first, then the superstructure was added at Genoa. Seabourn Sojourn was mostly built at CiMar, including the superstructure, and all of Seabourn Quest's steel work was done there.

The funnels and main mast await Seabourn Quest's arrival in Genoa. The vessel is due for delivery next summer.

All three vessels used Rijeka in Croatia as a facility for joining the two halves of the hulls.

Space restraints at T. Mariotti's Genoa yard had forced it into an exhaustive search for alternative construction sites after the Seabourn orders were secured.

The builder settled on the Nogaro yard in Udine, now controlled by Ci.Mar, a 50-50 joint venture between T. Mariotti and Gruppo Cimolai.
