Cruise the Ganges on the Bengal Pandaw River Ship.

As we have been reporting in our monthly newsletter for some time now - river cruising has boomed in popularity and several of the cruise operators are constructing new ships and placing them in new destinations.

The Bengal Pandaw is a typical example, while not a news ship (she was constructed in 2004) she is operation possibly the most unique river cruise of all - sailing the Ganges from Varanes (ancient Benares) to Kolkata (Calcutta) on the Ganges-Hoogli waterway..

Weather and river conditions limit the cruising period to a short window each year.  Add to that she only carries just 56 passengers for 10 sailing for the 2010/2011 seasons and you can see - only a few lucky people will make this cruise.

Check out the itinerary and see photos of the Bengal Pandaw - here.
