SeaDream to visit the Amazon for the first time

SeaDream Yacht Club will sail for the first time in the Amazon in February 2012, offering two 20-night voyages on SeaDream II

The line's two mega yachts will spend the late fall season of 2011 and early 2012 cruising the Caribbean. SeaDream’s president, Bob Lepisto said, 'We are thrilled to be adding the Amazon to our programme of itineraries. While at the same time, the British Virgin Islands, such us Norman Island, Jost van Dyke and Virgin Gorda are true yachting destinations and continue to be a favorite with our SeaDream guests.'

The first Amazon sailing departs from Barbados in February 2012, headed for Iquitos in Peru with, a call in Cuxiu Muni, Brazil, with the option to take a night canoe trip in search of crocodiles and snakes. In Alter de Chao, in Brazil, SeaDream will offer its signature Champagne and Caviar Splash on the beach and a riverboat cruise on Maica Lake to see pink dolphins.

Flightseeing will be offered in Manaus whilst a visit to Tupinambarana Island will provide a chance to attend a Boi-Bumba celebration.

A repeat return trip to Barbados from Iquitos is the second Amazon cruise finishing in March 2012. A naturalist will be on board both sailings providing detailed information about the destinations.

SeaDream II's Caribbean highlights include two round-trip cruises from Barbados to the Grenadines, St Lucia and Grenada whilst SeaDream I will operate a round-trip from Marigot, St Martin, with emphasis on the French West Indies. SeaDream I and II will call on St. Barts with overnight stays and the less visited islands of Saba and Culebrita.
