Park departs NCL as cruise line restructures European operations

NCL’s UK general manager Stephen Park is leaving the cruise line following a reorganization of its European operations.

Park, who was appointed to the position by NCL in 2007, is leaving because the Miami-based company has decided to merge its two European businesses into one group based in Germany and headed by general manager Michael Zengerle.

NCL said in a statement: “Given the importance of the UK within the line’s European business, the company will continue to focus on the UK market through its existing office in the UK, along with its European headquarters based in Germany.

“Everyone at Norwegian Cruise Line wishes Stephen success in his future endeavors and thanks him for the contribution he has made across the business, most recently with the successful UK launch of Norwegian Epic.”

The changes are being made because of the significant growth of the company’s European business, NCL said. Park was recently appointed chairman of the Passenger Shipping Association cruise section, a role he will now relinquish.
